Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange has issued a strong warning to the state government. He stated that if the government proceeds with elections without addressing the Maratha community's demand for reservation, it will face severe consequences. Jarange announced a large gathering event during the Dasara festival in Narayangadh of Beed district and urged Marathas to participate in large numbers. Emphasizing that he will not compromise on any demands, including the withdrawal of criminal cases against community members statewide, Jarange warned that the state government will face backlash in the upcoming elections if it ignores the Maratha community's demands. He called for unity among Marathas in their fight for reservation, stressing that it is not just about reservation but also about dignity and equality for the community. Jarange criticized some members of the ruling dispensation for deliberately creating obstacles and denying recognition to the Maratha community, suggesting they be classified as 'Kunbis' and granted reservation under the existing OBC quota. Several political parties, including the ruling coalition, have yet to take a clear stance on the issue. Despite promises from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government to address the matter, progress has been slow, leading to growing dissatisfaction among the community.
